Generation Rx Presentations at Glacier Ridge Elementary School

By -

Generation Rx volunteers from Cardinal Health, The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, Kroger Pharmacy and Nationwide Children’s Hospital gathered at Glacier Ridge Elementary School to educate about 500 students from grades 1- 5 regarding medication safety using Generation Rx materials. Volunteers educated students through interactive the Generation Rx games and activities.

Both days spent at the school could not have been possible without the effort, time, and enthusiasm from Daniel Bernstein and his team, Cora Sheets, and all the amazing volunteers with their positive attitude and expertise.  The past president of the Ohio Pharmacists Association, Cathy Kuhn, PharmD, volunteered her time as well.

Kids had some fun quotes during the event:
– “I actually share underwear with my sister.”
– “Only store medication in a safe and high place like the attic- no one can ever get to it. ”

Pharmacist volunteers enjoyed the experience just as much as the kids:
– “This was a much needed break from the pharmacy walls.”
– “I really enjoyed doing this- don’t hesitate to contact me to help with future events.”

This event was made possible by the amazing volunteers and Glacier Ridge Elementary.
